Tom Blomqivst qualified his #60 Acura ARX-06 on the front row, putting the Acura Meyer Shank Racing machine P2 as he and teammate Colin Braun seek to defend their 2025 race win.
In the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship edition of the race, Braun and Blomqvist led just two laps on the day, but led the only one that mattered to take their #60 Acura to victory lane.
The sister #93 Acura ARX-06 will line up P4 in the hands of Renger van der Zande. The #93 lineup also includes Nick Yelloly and Honda-backed driver Kaku Ohta, as the team goes for their second race win of the season—following van der Zande and Yelloly's triumph at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach earlier this year.
Ohta raced with the #93 team at Daytona in January, as well as competing with them in three races—including Watkins Glen—in 2025. The Japanese driver competes full time in both the Super Formula and Super GT championships with Honda. Currently, he leads the Super Formula championship title fight with Docomo Team Dandelion Racing, sweeping the both races of the opening weekend of the championship.

The #60 Acura and the sister #93 car were both really close, it was just a matter of hundredths of a second. Really good job by the Acura MSR team. As we know, it's a six-hour race and a lot can happen. In these endurance events, you need to focus a bit more on that. We'll see if we can improve tomorrow."
Renger van der Zande: (#93 Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian Acura ARX-06) qualified fourth: "It was an okay qualifying session. I think we always look good in qualifying, so I'm a little skeptical about tomorrow because if we're not ahead already, then I think others may have upper hand on us for the race. This is something we have seen in the past couple of races. I think the Acura is getting better every session, but there are still some improvements to be made for the race. With qualifying getting pushed back, it almost felt like a night practice in a way."
