Defect / Noncompliance Description
|
Describe the defect or noncompliance:
Due to a manufacturing error, there may be excess dust sealer with uneven surfaces on the tailgate. With the lid lights installed, this condition may cause excessive compression and/or gaps in the lid light gaskets, which may eventually allow trapped water to leak into the interior of the lid light(s). This condition may cause a short circuit and lead to a blown fuse, which may result in all positioning lights to be inoperable.

Loss of the exterior light function reduces the vehicle's visibility to other drivers and increases the risk of a collision.

Identify the Remedy

Describe the defect / noncompliance remedy program, including the manufacturer's plan for reimbursement:
Registered owners of all affected vehicles will be contacted by mail and asked to take their vehicle to an authorized Acura dealer. The dealer will inspect and, as necessary, install a fuse harness. If lid light(s) are inoperable or if there are signs of water intrusion, then light(s) will be replaced. If the dust sealer is found to be interfering with the gasket, then the dust sealer will be repaired.
Owners who have paid to have these repairs completed at their own expense may be eligible for reimbursement.

Dealers were notified on April 21, 2025. Owner notification will begin in May 2025.
