The recall population was determined based on manufacturing records. The production range reflects all possible vehicles that could experience the problem.

Describe the defect or noncompliance:
If the flat tire repair kit is operated with the nozzle improperly connected to the tire valve, pressure may build within the sealant bottle. If the relief valve does not release pressure as designed, excessive pressure may accumulate, potentially causing the bottle cap to detach.

Describe the safety risk:
If the bottle cap detaches, the risk of injury is increased.

Describe the cause:
During development of the flat tire repair kit (TRK), the design did not adequately account for pressure buildup that could occur if the nozzle were improperly connected, resulting in the inclusion of an unnecessary fluid leak prevention valve. Additionally, certain relief valves were improperly adjusted during supplier manufacturing, preventing pressure from being released as intended.

Description of remedy program:
Registered owners of all affected vehicles will be contacted by mail and asked to take their vehicle to an authorized Honda dealer. The dealer will replace the nozzle of the tire repair kit if the sealant bottle has not been previously pressurized. If it has been pressurized, the sealant bottle will be replaced.

How remedy component differs from recalled component:
The remedy component does not have a one-way valve.

The recall condition was corrected in production on May 20, 2026.

Describe the recall schedule for notifications:
Dealers have been notified. Owner notification will begin in July 2026.

Estimated percentage of involved with defect is less than 1%.
As of May 28, 2026, Honda Canada has had 10 reported cases of this issue.
