*This document features select information from the “Part 573 Safety Recall Report” submitted by Honda.

*As of March 9, 2023, Honda has received 71 warranty claims in North America related to the issue between May 2020 to November 2022, and no reports of injuries or deaths related to this issue.

Defect / Noncompliance Description

*Describe the defect or noncompliance:
The left and right side view door mirror heater pad, located behind and attached to the mirror glass, can lose adhesion and detach from the mirror backing plate.

*Describe the safety risk:
If the heater pad detaches/falls from the mirror backing plate, the mirror glass will detach/fall with it, resulting in the potential impairment or loss of rearward visibility and increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Identify any warning which can precede or occur:

Describe the cause:
The side view mirror heater pad was adhered to the backing plate with adhesive tape with insufficient adhesive strength, which can cause detachment during normal vehicle operation.

Identify the Remedy

Describe the defect / noncompliance remedy program, including the manufacturer’s plan for reimbursement:
Registered owners of all affected vehicles will be contacted by mail and asked to take their vehicle to an authorized Honda dealer. The dealer will replace both left and right mirror sets (holder assemblies) with an improved part.

Owners who have paid to have these repairs completed at their own expense will be eligible for reimbursement.

Dealer notification is scheduled to begin and end on or about 03/2023. Owner notification is scheduled to begin on or about 05/08/2023.
