Honda Announces Android Auto Integration for Gold Wing

Markham, ON. May 13, 2020 - Honda Canada announces that Android AutoTM *1 will be integrated*2 with the current-model Gold Wing*3 series motorcycles.

Customers with AndroidTM smartphones will soon be able to seamlessly enjoy application services such as music, phone calls and messaging. The software update release is anticipated to be available in June 2020.

Since the Goldwing GL1000 went on sale in North America in 1975, the Gold Wing series has evolved as Honda’s flagship model. In October 2017, the all-new Gold Wing became the world’s first*4 motorcycle with Apple CarPlay integration*5. Its navigation and application-specific services have enhanced the ride experience and have been well received by many customers.

The addition of Android Auto will offer Android users a simpler, safer way to use their phones on the motorcycle. With a simplified interface, Android Auto makes it easy for the rider to access music, media, and messaging apps on the motorcycle. And, with the help of the easy to use, voice controlled, Google Assistant on Android Auto, the rider can stay focused, connected, and entertained while keeping their eyes on the road and hands on the handle bars.

With Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration coming to more models, Honda plans to bring more comfort and convenience to customers’ motorcycle lifestyles worldwide.
