MARKHAM, ON – March 30, 2012 – Honda Motor Co. will voluntarily recall approximately 770,000 model-year 2002-2004 CR-V and 2003 Pilot vehicles globally (excluding Canadian vehicles) to inspect and replace components of the headlight wiring system. A potential failure of the headlight switch wiring may cause the low beam headlights to become inoperative. The loss of the low beam headlights may increase the risk of an accident. No crashes or injuries have been reported related to this issue.
In Canada, the Daytime Running Lights (DRL) system required in all Canadian vehicles employs a different lighting circuit design and uses different components compared to the other markets. As a result, vehicles built for the Canadian market are not affected by this recall.
